Dylan Allen picks up his first Legion Win of 2017

The slow paced pitchers duel between the Patriots' Dylan Allen (1-0) and Canal's Dyland Lenard, came down to the 5th Inning, where both pitchers surrendered a run, but Allen already was ahead 2-0 after the 1st which left the score 3-1 after 5 and at the end of the game.

Allen was lifted for Tyler DeFord (0-1-1) with 2 outs in the 6th, DeFord picked up his first save for retiring the 4 batters he faced, 3 by strikeout.

The Patriots scored first as K-Ci Widdowson singled to start the game. Then Gabe Wescott and Braydan Graham walked loading the bases. Evan Nibblett sacrificed the Widdowson home, and Noah Waldridge launched a line drive to right that scored Wescott.

Canal threatened later in the game, eventually stranding 10 runners to good fielding and timely strikeouts. The Patriots also had trouble advancing runners until Widdowson led off the 5th with a walk, eventually reaching third on a stole base and a single, but Braydan Graham hit into a double play, scoring Widdowson.

Justin Gray had the games only extra base hit, a 3rd inning double.

The Patriots are off until next Tuesday when they travel to Milford.
