Too Many Walks, Too Many Errors as Canal Post 25 Prevails

Two big Innings Lead to 6th Win

Canal batters took advantage of a Ryan Bond 2 run double, 2 walks, a hit batsman and 2 errors to bat 9 in the first inning, scoring 4 runs. (2 earned). In the 2nd, Joey Lungen's 2 out double drove in Alex Weber, to give Canal a 5-1 lead.

The Patriots chipped away, scoring one in both the first and second innings, then exploding in the 3rd, scoring 3 runs to tie the game. Jordan Haddaway tripled to deep center, driving in Vonnie Toppin, then Trey Toppin doubled to right center. Both would score, but Canal 's pitcher, Jake Walls started a 1-3 double play to end the inning.

The game continued tied, until the 5th inning, when walks and errors led to 3 more Canal Runs, the last 2 driven in by Jake Walls' fielders choice.

Wining pitcher, Walls finished with 9 strikeouts, allowing 5 earned runs. Perez Nichols took the loss for Post 6 in his first start, allowing 3 walks against 5 strikeouts. Matt Covington finished up, striking out 6 and allowing 3 runs, only 1 earned.

Justin Gray also doubled for Post 6.
