Harrison Post 14 Prevails in a Close Game

Andrew Unterreiner Keeps the Patriots' Bats at bay

The Patriots took an early lead on some good baserunning by K-Ci Widdowson, who reached on an error, and took advantage of a fielding error to reach 3rd, then score.

The score was tied until the 4th, when Gary Cole singled to start the inning, then scored on Logan Unterreiner's single with the bases loaded.  The Patriots had a chance to add to their total in the 5th, but a double play ended the threat.

Mason Drummond provided the fireworks in the 5th with a solo shot to left field, giving Smyrna the lead.

The Patriots still had a chance with a runner on 2nd in the 7th, but Smyrna Pitcher Andrew Unterreiner's 6th strikeout ended the game with a win for him and Post 14.

Matt Warrington took the loss for the Pats. spoiling his 3 strikeout performance. Evan Niblett had started the game and left with the game tied.

3 Home Runs Pace Canal Post 25 over Nanticoke Post 6

Lungen, Weglarz and Riley all Homer for Canal

After two innings of a defensive dual, Joey Lungen lifted Post 25 to a three-run lead in the bottom of the third with a homer over the left field fence.  John Weglarz added to Post 25’s offense with a two-run homer over the right field fence in the fourth inning. 

Post 6 answered back with four runs in the sixth inning highlighted by Justin Gray’s two-RBI double, only to be countered by Aidan Riley’s two-run homer for Post 25 in the sixth inning. 

Post 6 manufactured two more runs in the top of the seventh, but fell short of matching Canal’s strong offense. 

Mason Keene pitched five innings of one-hit baseball for Post 25, which played a key factor in Canal’s victory.

Hass Stays the Course in Game 1, Cam Turner hangs on in the 2nd game

Game 1:
In the first game Joey Haas pitched a complete game giving up 5 hits 4ks no walks.

Fox Post fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first on a Barker home run. Fox post scored one in the bottom of the first and took control with 4 in the bottom of the second.

They added 2 more in the fourth and fifth, then closed the game with 4 in the sixth.

Barker started for Post 10

Pitch counts Fox Post Haass 71 Post 10 Barker 69 Lesher 60 and Hebert 29

Game 2:
Fox Post won 5-3 led by Tommy Pomatto 3-3 and Joey Wunsch 2-3 and 2 RBI

Cam Turner got the win going 5 innings giving up one run

Tommy Pomatto pitched the 6th and Garrett Lawson got the save pitching a perfect 7th.

Venti pitched a complete game for Post 10 and Barker homered again for 3 RBI Pitch counts Fox post Turner 57 Tommy Pomatto 11 Garrett Lawson 14 Post 10 Venti 91
