3 Home Runs Pace Canal Post 25 over Nanticoke Post 6

Lungen, Weglarz and Riley all Homer for Canal

After two innings of a defensive dual, Joey Lungen lifted Post 25 to a three-run lead in the bottom of the third with a homer over the left field fence.  John Weglarz added to Post 25’s offense with a two-run homer over the right field fence in the fourth inning. 

Post 6 answered back with four runs in the sixth inning highlighted by Justin Gray’s two-RBI double, only to be countered by Aidan Riley’s two-run homer for Post 25 in the sixth inning. 

Post 6 manufactured two more runs in the top of the seventh, but fell short of matching Canal’s strong offense. 

Mason Keene pitched five innings of one-hit baseball for Post 25, which played a key factor in Canal’s victory.

Canal Post 25, R.C. DuPont Aviators Split

Post 25 jumps out early to get the win, but R.C. comes back in the 2nd Game

Canal jumped out to a two-run lead in the first inning, then RC’s Spencer Read hit a two-run homer in the top of the fourth to tie the score. 

Canal’s bats lit up in the bottom of the fourth inning with six runs, led by Alex Weber who hit two doubles on the day for three RBI’s.  Canal’s Dylan Lenard held RC to six hits over 5 1/3 innings recording four strikeouts; and Garrett Alexander came in to finish the game for Canal, holding RC to one hit and striking out three.

Game 2:
Canal’s Mikayle Holloway slammed a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to tie the score at three.

In the top of the seventh, critical errors from Canal allowed RC to score three unanswered runs to seal victory in game 2, and split the doubleheader.  RC’s Trevor Jump came in to pitch in the middle of the bottom of the sixth, and finished the game by holding Canal batters to no runs or walks, and recorded three strikeouts.

Fox Post 2 Wins Another Game - in Middletown

Pitching by Committee and Tommy Pomatto keys to the game

Facing by a young pitching staff, Fox Post 2 jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, and Canal was unable to match their explosive offense.  Fox’s pitching quad held Canal to four runs.

The Fox offense was lead by Tommy Pomatto, who scored three times and knocked in four RBI’s.  Jarrett Wallace went 2 for 3 for Canal, and scored two of Canal’s four runs.

Canal pitch counts:  Dorazio (35), Garrett (57), McDermott (45), Weglarz (6)

Canal Post 25 in Middletown is growing, planning a new Post Home, and reaching out to the young men in the Middletown - Smyrna area with a new entry in Delaware's Central division.

 The Firehawks recruit players from Middletown and Smyrna HS areas, long a hotbed of amateur baseball in Delaware.
