History

Charles F. Durney Post 27 sponsored a team in the league in the late 40's, but withdrew later in the next decade.

A team formed in the Elsemere area, which included much of the original Durney Post zone, calling itself the Oak Grove Thunder.

The Thunder was on the verge of withdrawing from the league in the mid 2000's when Bob Manelski took over running the team and secured sponsorship from Durney Post 27 in 2009 .

In 2017, The Roberto Clemente Little League took over the operation of the team, partnering with Durney Post 27 to keep the team in operation.
