The Post 10 Generals formed as a result of the Merger between the Post 10 Newark Legion team, and a team sponsored by the Atterbury VFW Post.
The team is named "The Generals" after Delaware native General W.W. Atterbury and is currently sponsored by O'Brien Post 10 of the American Legion.
Post 1 took a commanding lead by putting up 6 runs on 6 hits in the first inning and never looked back.
Shane Lougheed led the way going 3 for 3 with 2 doubles 4 RBI’s
Joe Setting followed with a triple and 2 singles scoring all 3 times.
The starting pitcher was Kevin Williams pitching 3 innings of shutout ball allowing 2 hits with 3K’s no walks and threw 44 pitches
Michael Spadea relieved pitching 2 innings. Walker 3 struck out 2 and gave up 1 hit, a three run home run.
Christiana High School is undergoing a large remodeling project this summer, and they are not allowing anyone to use their facilities due to the amount of construction equipment on the grounds.
That precludes the use of the Christiana HS field by the Post 10 Generals.
The team is working on an alternate field, and should have one ready shortly, but for now, Post 10 is looking for a new, temporary home.
