A Tough Fight in the June Heat.

Stahl came to visit Post 1 Tuesday night at St. Mark’s High School and played one of the more exciting games of the season between these two powerhouse teams of Delaware American Legion Baseball in extreme heat.

Breadon Scherer was the Starting Pitcher for Post 1 last night and battled through a nagging minor hamstring issue – he was productive enough to hold Stahl to only 1 hit and 2 runs during his 3inns pitched. On the opposing side Stahl Post 30 starter Mike Lane went 6 very intense and strong innings for his team finally maxing out at 107 pitches in the 6th inning before having to come out of the game handing the ball over to their closer Hart .

Post One used Logan Myers and Steven Mann to hold off huge threats from Stahl in the 4th inning and 6th inning … Logan Myers was able to battle through a small bout of heat exhausting work on the mound for 2 inns and Steven Mann came in to stop the threat in the 6th inning .

Tyler August led the way with a timely hit for a 2 RBI double for Stahl, scoring 3 times himself off of well place shot from Stahl catcher Dom Joseph , Mason Rossiter  and Multiple hits from Sam Devard .

Post One had multiple hits and RBI contributed in later innings by Kevin Williams , Kyle Reader , Breadon Scherer , Jackson Tyer, Jack Sczerba , Tyler Satterfield … a great bunt by Steven Mann to move runners in scoring position late in the game and one heck of a great walk-off hit by off the bat of Kevin Williams for the eventual 6-5 comeback win over Stahl Post 30.

The two teams will face-off again in battle Thursday night at St. Mark’s … 1st pitch is scheduled for 6pm ( weather permitting )
