Delaware Post 1 Takes Two Close Games From Milford Post 3

It Looked Like huge mismatch based on the records of the two teams

In what would appear to have been a huge mismatch based on the records of the two teams, DE Post 1 traveled south to Woodbridge HS to take on Post 3 on Sunday, July 9th in a DH.  As they say, though, its why you play the games.

Game 1:
After falling behind 5-1 in the 2nd inning, Post 1 scored 5 runs over the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings to take a 1 run lead.  Milford tied it in the bottom of the 7th to force extra innings.  Luke Wilhelm knocked in Sean Gilardi to give Post 1 the lead in the top of the 9th.  Mike Serafin had 3 hits and an RBI for Post 1.  Brian and Sean Gilardi each had doubles, singles, and an RBI a piece.  Brian Gilardi picked up the win in relief and Oliver Campbell earned the 3 outs save.  Sam Erving and Holden Bailey each had 2 hits for Milford.

Post 1: #6 Gilardi, Wilhelm, Coutillo, #21 Gilardi each had 2 hits apiece.  Michael Serafin led the way with 3 hits for Post 1.  Gilardi and Gifford also doubled. 
For Post 3, Sam Ervin lead the way with 2 hits including a double.  Dorin Emerick also doubled.

Post 1 - #12 - 73pitches; Ludman - 16pitches; Gilardi - 37 pitches; #Campbell- 9 pitches
Post 3 - Bullock - 102 pitches
 
Game 2:
In the top of the 7th, Sean Gilardi beat out a 2 out infield single to keep the game alive, and then Michael Cautillo knocked in Mike Serafin to tie the game for Post 1 and force extra innings.  Post 1 exploded for 6 runs in the top of the 8th inning to put Milford away. Mike Serafin had 3 hits, including a 2 run homer during a 5 RBI day.  Brian Gilardi also had 3 hits, while Luke Wilhelm, Oliver Campbell, and Michael Cautillo each had 2 hits. Sam Erving and Holden Bailey each doubled for Milford.
